Melt

ROOT

Root melt, Root shadow, Root smudge, they're all one of the same really.

A root melt is where the colour is melted down from the root around 2-4 inches. It's usually a colour that is similar to your natural colour to create a deep, dimensional root. A root smudge or shadow is very similar but only comes down 1/2 - 1 inch from the root.

The purpose of these root colours is to add depth and dimension at the root after a blonding service but also to diffuse the line of demarcation from the lighter ribbons wether its from highlights, foilayage or balayage.

It really does help to create a seamless blend and ensures easy maintenance and longevity.
